Wild fire

“Hannah’’, calls Mum.

“Yeah.”

“It’s time to go to bed.”

“Fine.”

When I jump into bed I fall straight to sleep. After a while I wake up. I realise that Mum and Dad have gone to sleep. I go out and I hear crackling. It’s a wild fire. I race into Mum and Dad’s room first because they have the closest room to me. I wake them up and say that there's a fire. Then we wake up my brother’s and sister’s. We wake them up then we all race to the lounge. We try to find an escape but we can't because the big roaring, boiling, glowing fire block us. Then we shut all the windows. Then we find an escape and we go through it.     

We called 111 very slowly.

We all stand outside, far away from the fire, while the fireman put the fire out.

On Tuesday 16th of May room 4 and room 7 all went to Nick's farm in Waitahuna. The people that were doing the electric fishing were Keiran and Angus. The People that did the planting were Glenn and Matt. First my class did planting we had to plant flaxes along the river side, it helps the eels to hide under the flaxes. We had to dig a hole and pop the plant in and fill in the hole, then stand on the dirt. We got into groups. Then we went to electric fishing and everybody raced down to a bucket with a slimy eel in it. We had to stand on the long grass while he showed us the net that he caught the slimy eel in. After that he showed us electric fishing finally we went back to school. My favourite part was seeing the electric fishing but I found the rest a bit boring.

Athletics Day

The first sport we did was nerf throw, then we did discus  and next we went to distance running. I came 2nd place and my sister came first place.We went to long jump. I jumped a long way then we went to high jump. I don't know what place I came but I jumped my highest. Then we went to the sprints. I was really fast but Addy beat me. I wanted to go to South Otago but I am too young. 

Swimming

This term we have been doing swimming. I'm learning to do one-two-three-breathe so I can do a length.  My favourite thing to do is breast stroke. We have been doing some fun races this week to get ready for Waitahuna swimming carnival next week.
